<p class="p1">This is the first recipe of 2015 and the only thing that I want to promise to myself and to you (of course) is to bake more, to try new recipes and to grow as much as possible. Because this is my passion and I will never let it go. I am waiting for something to happen but I can’t say what it is right now&#8230; if you are patient and if it really happens…I will let you know! I grew up with my special grandma Palmira, baking many traditional recipes from the South of Italy. I also cooked with my mum Ottavia and learned to bake more “contemporary” recipes. And now? Now I want to start this year (I want to underline that this is MY YEAR) with something that is really far from my Italian traditions but in the meantime is really close to my new American one. Let’s bake FUDGY PECAN BROWNIES*!</p>

<p class="p1">DIRECTIONS</p>
<ol class="ol1">
<li class="li2">Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread a little piece of butter in an 8-inch square baking pan and line with parchment paper, leaving a segment overhang on all sides.</li>
<li class="li2">Mix together cornstarch, cocoa, cinnamon, and salt.</li>
<li class="li2">Place chocolate and the butter in a small saucepan and stir them on a low fire until melted and smooth.</li>
<li class="li2">Stir in sugar and vanilla, whisk one egg at a time until everything is combined.</li>
<li class="li2">Add the cornstarch mixture and stir until mixture is smooth. Stir in pecans</li>
<li class="li2">Pour the mix into the pan and level it off.</li>
<li class="li2">Bake for 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out with a few crumbs attached.</li>
<li class="li2">Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.</li>
<li class="li2">Lift the cake out of the pan and cut it into 16 squares</li>

<p>Questo è il primo post del 2015 e l&#8217;unica promessa che voglio fare a me stessa e a voi (ovviamente) è di cucinare di più, di provare tantissime ricette nuove e di svilupparne altrettante. Ho in mente una cosa e poche persone la sanno, solo quelle più importanti per me. Cucinare è la mia passione e non la lascerò mai andare via. Sono cresciuta con la mia meravigliosa nonna Palmira (si si, tipico nome svedese ahahah) cucinando i dolci tradizionali della cucina pugliese per poi fare una pratica un po&#8217; più &#8220;contemporanea&#8221; in cucina con mamma Ottavia. Ma quest&#8217;anno è mio e voglio iniziare con un dolce che è davvero lontano dalle mie tradizioni italiane ma molto vicino a quelle nuove americane&#8230; cuciniamo i FUDGY PECAN BROWNIES*!</p>
<p>*ricetta di Martha Stewart</p>
<p>INGREDIENTS</p>
<ul>
<li>84 gr burro + 1 pezzetto per la teglia</li>
<li>47 gr di Maizena</li>
<li>20 gr di cacao amaro in polvere</li>
<li>1/2 cucchiaino di cannella</li>
<li>1/2 cucchiaino di sale fino</li>
<li>350 gr di cioccolato fondente</li>
<li>150 gr di zucchero</li>
<li>1 cucchiaino di vaniglia</li>
<li>3 uova grandi</li>
<li>100 gr di noci pecan tagliate a pezzetti e tostate</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>PROCEDIMENTO</p>
<ol>
<li>Accendere il forno a 180 gradi. Imburrare una teglia quadrata con diametro di 20 cm e ricoprirla con carta da forno lasciando qualche centimetro extra sui lati.</li>
<li>Mischiare insieme la maizena, il cacao, la cannella e il sale.</li>
<li>In un pentolino sciogliere il cioccolato e il burro a fuoco lento mescolando sempre fino a quando non risulta completamente sciolto e amalgamato.</li>
<li>Togliere dal fuoco e incorporare lo zucchero e la vaniglia.</li>
<li>Aggiungere un uovo alla volta e mischiare.</li>
<li>Aggiungere il mix di maizena e mischiarlo vigorosamente fino a quando non si ottiene un composto liscio.</li>
<li>Mischiare le noci pecan spezzettate.</li>
<li>Versare il composto nella teglia e livellarlo.</li>
<li>Cucinare per 35 minuti e di tanto in tanto girare la teglia (inserendo uno stuzzicadenti al centro dei brownies deve uscire con qualche briciola umida attaccata).</li>
<li>Lasciar raffreddare completamente nella teglia su una grata.</li>
<li>Aiutandosi con la carta da forno extra lasciata precedentemente tirare fuori i brownies e tagliarli in 16 quadratini.</li>

<p><span id="more-2919"></span> <a href="http://www.itsugar.com/">IT’SUGAR.</a> What a smart word play! What’s more immediate than this?! When I went in for the first time in March I felt like I was in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory (and it’s always been my dream!)</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">It’s December, it’s the Holiday Season and New York is amazing during this time of the year because of its lights! I was looking for the perfect spot to write about and while I was walking on Downtown Broadway… I SAW IT AGAIN! It’sugar, a place where I would like to live. I&#8217;m serious.</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">The venue is big and as soon as you walk in you’ll feel you’re in heaven (ok maybe in my version of heaven). Every corner, every stand and every box of candy is perfectly positioned, it&#8217;s spotless clean and your entire shopping vision is clear.</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">Candy, lollipops, chewing gum, sugar rocks in all colors you can imagine, candy canes and peppermint candy will enlighten your day. Basically my sugar and adrenaline levels skyrocketed only by looking at all the stuff around me. I was walking around the shop with a small bag in my hands as if I were a pirate who had just discovered the greatest treasure of the world, but instead of jewels and gold coins, I was scraping together chocolate bars and candy!!</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">Am I crazy? I don&#8217;t know.. I think I have an incurable positive disease called: Peter Pan Syndrome.</p>

E poi nella versione on-the-go classica da 60g o provetta (assolutamente geniale) non ci sono proprio più scuse per non avere sempre una piccola scorta a portata di mano per risollevare quelle giornate un po&#8217; grigie o anche solo per dedicarsi una piccola coccola dolce in ufficio, sul tram o a casa! Il mio gusto preferito è senza dubbio il lampone ma credetemi che anche gli altri non sono meno ricercati e accattivanti!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">In August, at the beginning of this incredible adventure, <a href="http://www.soup-opera.com/">Soup Opera</a> contacted me for a collaboration and.. How could I ever say no?!?! Soup Opera is a very interesting blog managed by Paola Buzzini (&lt;3) with the aim to connect art with food. All the recipes are inspired by an artist or by an opera. It&#8217;s really cool and original! My collaboration with this blog is inspired by Hopper (because Hopper&#8217;s exhibition was on at the Whitney Museum in New York but unfortunately the museum is now closed). Paola and I thought a lot about which dessert could be the right one for Hopper. We then decided to concentrated on the fact that he is American so I&#8217;m happy to give you the recipe of the Blondie Cupcakes (credits: Real Simple&#8217;s recipe).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Ingredients for 12 cupcakes</strong></p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1/2 teaspoon baking powder</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1/4 teaspoon salt</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1/2 cup granulated sugar</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1 cup brown sugar</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1 large egg</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">2 teaspoons vanilla extract</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;"><strong> Ingredients for Chantilly Cream</strong></p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1 cup heavy cream, cold</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">1 tablespoon confectioners&#8217; sugar</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;"><strong>Directions</strong></p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">Heat oven to 350° F. Line a standard 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, whisk the butter and sugars until smooth.</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">Whisk in the egg and vanilla. Gradually stir in the flour mixture, then stir in the chocolate chips.</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups. Bake until the centers are just set and a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs, 25 to 30 minutes.</p>
<p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">Put cream, vanilla and confectioners&#8217; sugar in a bowl, whisk with an electric mixer and beat until soft peaks begin to form. Cover and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes. Put in in a sac à poche and decorate the cupcakes!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">The day after <strong>Thanksgiving</strong> is <strong>Black Friday</strong> and this is the first time in my life that I live this “American experience” (because in Italy we don’t celebrate these holidays unfortunately). For Thanksgiving, Sloane has suggested an amazing <a href="/hello-happy-thanksgiving-readers/">Pumpkin Pie</a> recipe and today, for Black Friday, I want to tell you about a place where you can rest and relax after or during the shopping rush. This place is <strong><a href="http://amorino.com/en/">Amorino</a> Chelsea</strong>! A gelateria café’ that will make you feel at “home” and where the owner, Federico, welcomes you every time with a big “Benvenuti da Amorino! How are you today?”. You may know this place because of the gelato (yes, <strong>GELATO</strong>, not ice cream, I mean, this is the real and artisanal/homemade one). But let me tell you what Amorino is for me.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Style:</strong> there is always a warm atmosphere inside the shop and the brick wall has that New York look &amp; feel that I just love.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>My favorite</strong>: First of all Amorino is Gelato. My choice is the flower cone with Pistachio, Nocciola and Inimitabile (a type of chocolate) and yes, I said FLOWER. If you’ve never been to Amorino, you’re in for an amazing surprise. You can choose as many flavors as you like (and yes you can even have 24 flavors in one gelato) and these are served onto the cone as petals resulting in a beautiful and yummy rose shape. Amorino is not only about gelato, it’s also one of my favorite breakfast places that serves chocolate croissants, lattes, macarons with gelato (pistachio is definitely to die for) and there is also a selection of 10 different hot chocolates but unfortunately I haven’t tried them yet.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>I like:</strong> all the ingredients that are used at Amorino shops and products are natural and biologic. All the milk &amp; eggs are organic and they do not use any artificial flavoring or coloring. You can really taste the difference and the freshness of the ingredients.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">If you are strolling through Chelsea and are in the mood for something special or simply a cup of coffee and a chat with Federico, my advice is to visit Amorino Chelsea!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">While this holiday was started for historic reasons in the US, I believe that the basic idea behind it, to be thankful, should be celebrated everywhere and as often as possible. The gist of today is this: remember to be grateful, whether it’s for something you believe in, the people who surround you or even just the food on your plate, which I’m definitely partial to myself.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">In true Thanksgiving fashion, before getting to the food portion of this post, I’d like to start off by giving thanks to Miss Cocò Cupcake herself, Sara, for bringing me into this amazing little family. I’m really excited to be here!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">For my first post, I decided to do something that truly means the world to me and is luckily quite appropriate for Thanksgiving: a pie. I honestly don’t know the history behind pie and why it’s so often associated with this holiday. I considered looking it up to regale you all with its where, why and how story, but that’s just not my style. It’s not that I don’t care, per se, but it’s that my own personal history with pie is what’s most important to me, especially today.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">When I make recipes, I believe that you can taste my emotions in my food. If I’m in a bad mood, it’s going to be sour. If I’m really excited, it’s going to be really sweet. When I make pie, I hope that people can taste the love that I put into it because I learned to make pies from my grandmother, the ultimate pie maker and a woman who made the world brighter every day she was in it. In fact, the crust recipe below comes from her kitchen. I hope you all enjoy it!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Pie</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Notes to the reader:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">- I am giving you the recipe for one 9” pie; however, I chose to make mini pies, which you will see in the pictures below.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">- This recipe can also be made without the chocolate chips for a more traditional pumpkin pie. Personally, I’m addicted to chocolate, so the more chips the better.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Pie Crust &amp; Leaves </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 cups flour</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 tsp salt</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1/2 cups + 2 Tbs oil</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">5 Tbs cold water</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2. Whisk the<strong> flour</strong> and <strong>salt</strong> together.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">3. In a separate bowl, mix the <strong>oil</strong> and <strong>water,</strong> and then gradually add it into your dry mixture until it begins to clump. If it appears to be too oily to work with, feel free to add in a pinch more flour as necessary.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">4. Form your dough into a ball, and roll it out between two sheets of wax or parchment paper until it is around 1/4 of an inch thick.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">5. Carefully fit the rolled out dough into your 9” pie plate and crimp your edges however you would like. (If you have never done this before, there are many how-to videos on youtube! I’ll try to make one myself in a later post.)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">6. Prick the bottom of the crust three or four times with a fork, then gently fit a piece of foil over the crust to cover its sides and bottom. Fill the foil with your pie weights and bake the crust for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, remove your pie weights and bake the crust for 5 more minutes. Let cool while you make your filling. (If you don’t have pie weights, dried beans will do the trick.)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">7.For an extra seasonal topping, I made leaves out of my leftover crust using cookie cutters. Brush them with an egg white, sprinkle them with sugar or cinnamon, and bake them for 10 minutes. Place them on top of the finished pie.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Filling:</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 1/2 cups pureed pumpkin (canned or fresh)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">12 oz evaporated milk</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">3/4 cup brown sugar</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 tsp cinnamon</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1/2 tsp vanilla</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1/2 tsp nutmeg</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1/4 tsp cloves</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1/2 tsp salt</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 eggs</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> 1. Your oven should remain at <strong>375 degrees F</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2. Using a mixer, combine <strong>pumpkin</strong>, <strong>evaporated milk</strong> and <strong>brown sugar</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">3. Add in <strong>vanilla</strong>, <strong>cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves</strong> and <strong>salt</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">4.Blend in <strong>eggs</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">5. Toss in <strong>chocolate chips</strong> as desired.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">6. Spoon your mixture evenly into your cooked crust.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">7. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour, until your toothpick or knife comes out clean in the center of the pie.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Bourbon Whipped Cream Topping (optional but delicious!):</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 liquid cup heavy cream, cold</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">4 tsp sugar</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 tsp vanilla extract</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 Tbs bourbon</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1. Using a mixer, whip the ingredients together until soft peaks begin to form. Be careful not to over-whip.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Ok, mentre tutti negli Stati Uniti festeggiano il Thanksgiving una volta all&#8217;anno, io credo che l’idea di base che ci sia dietro, di ringraziare, dovrebbe essere celebrata ovunque e il più spesso possibile. Il concetto di oggi è: ringraziare quello in cui si crede, come le persone che ti circondano o anche partendo proprio dal cibo, per il quale io sono totalmente di parte.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Prima di arrivare alla ricetta di questo post, vorrei iniziare il mio Thanksgiving ringraziando Miss Cocò Cupcake, Sara, per avermi accolta in questa piccola famiglia. Sono davvero super entusiasta di farne parte!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Per il mio primo post ho deciso di cucinare qualcosa che per me rappresenta tutto (parlando di dolci) e fortunatamente è appropriata per il Thanksgiving: una pie (o meglio, torta). Onestamente non conosco la storia che c&#8217;è dietro questo tipo di dessert e il perché è perennemente associata a questa festività. Ho pensato di cercare le origini e di intrattenervi con dove, come, quando e perché, ma questo alla fine non è il mio stile. Non dico “No, non mi interessa”, solo che la mia storia è personale ed è la cosa più importante per me, soprattutto per il Thanksgiving.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Metto sempre tutta la mia passione quando cucino e questo tendenzialmente lo capite non appena assaggiate le mie creazioni. Se sono triste finisce che sa di amaro, se sono davvero felice è super dolce. Quando faccio una torta, spero sempre che le persone possano assaporare tutto l’amore che ci metto perchè ho imparato a fare le torte dalla mia amata nonna, nonchè la maestra delle torte e una donna che faceva diventare il mondo super luccicante fino a quando è stata qui con me. E proprio la ricetta della pasta frolla arriva diretta dalla sua cucina. Spero vi piaccia!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Nota per il lettore:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">- Sto fornendo la ricetta per una <strong>teglia da 22 cm</strong>. Io ho scelto di fare una torta più piccola solo perché in foto mi piaceva di più <img src="http://i2.wp.com/misscococupcake.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif?w=1170" alt=":-)" class="wp-smiley" data-recalc-dims="1" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">- Questa ricetta si può realizzare anche senza gocce di cioccolato per avere una torta di zucca più tradizionale. Personalmente, sono totalmente dipendente dal cioccolato, quindi più gocce abbiamo e meglio è!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Pasta frolla e foglie</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">160 gr di farina 00</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 cucchiaino di sale</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">65 ml di olio di oliva</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">5 cucchiai di acqua fredda</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1. Accendere il forno a <strong>190 gradi C</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2. Mischiare la <strong>farina</strong> con il <strong>sale </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">3. In una ciotola a parte, mischiare l&#8217;<strong>olio di oliva</strong> e l&#8217;<strong>acqua</strong> e gradualmente aggiungerli negli ingredienti secchi fino a quando non iniziano ad incorporasi. Se dovesse apparire troppo oleosa da lavorare, aggiungere un po&#8217; di farina alla volta se necessario</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">4. Creare una palla e stendere la pasta in mezzo a due fogli di carta da forno fino a quando non si raggiunge un&#8217;altezza di circa 0,5 cm.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">5. Gentilmente trasferire la pasta frolla nella teglia e arricciare gli angoli come si desidera. (se non l&#8217;avete mai fatto ci sono diversi video su YouTube! Proverò a farne uno in un post futuro)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">6. Bucherellare con una forchetta la base della torta, posizionare un foglio di carta da forno e sopra dei legumi (quelli che solitamente utilizzate per cucinare le crostate) e infornare per 5 minuti. Rimuovere la carta da forno (+ i legumi) e infornare nuovamente per 5 minuti. Lasciare raffreddare prima di riempirla con il composto di zucca.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">7. Per restare in tema Autunno e Thanksgiving ho creato delle foglie con gli avanzi di pasta frolla. Spennellarle con l&#8217;albume, un po&#8217; di zucchero o cannella e cucinarle per 10 minuti. Posizionarle sulla torta una volta terminata.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Crema di zucca e gocce di cioccolato </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">825 gr di purea di zucca</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">350 ml di latte condensato</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">165 gr zucchero di canna</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 cucchiaino di cannella</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1/2 cucchiaino di vaniglia</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1/2 cucchiaino di noce moscata</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">un pizzico di chiodi di garofano</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1/2 cucchiaino di sale</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 uova</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">150 gr di gocce di cioccolato</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1. Mantenere il forno a 190 gradi C</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2. Mixare insieme la <strong>polpa di zucca</strong>, il <strong>latte condensato</strong> e lo <strong>zucchero di canna</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">3. Aggiungere <strong>vaniglia</strong>, <strong>cannella</strong>, <strong>noce moscata</strong>, <strong>chiodi di garofano</strong> e <strong>sale</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">4. Aggiungere le <strong>uova</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">5. Con una spatola mischiare le <strong>gocce di cioccolato</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">6. Versare il composto all&#8217;interno della base della torta</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">7. Cucinare dai 45 ai 60 minuti (dipende dal forno), verificare con uno stuzzicadenti che il centro della torta sia cotto (deve risultare asciutto)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Panna montata al Bourbon (plus.. ma assolutamente deliziosa!)</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">235 ml di panna da montare fredda</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">30 gr zucchero</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 cucchiaini di vaniglia</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 cucchiai di Bourbon</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> Montare tutti gli ingredienti insieme fino a quando non si ottiene una massa uniforme. Attenzione a non mixare troppo!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Style</strong>: fresh and clean. At the bar there are always fresh flowers to welcome you and the tables outside are great, all in pastel colors, one different from the other. Attractive graphics, a little <strong>retro</strong> with a focus on all Botega brand specialties.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>My favorite</strong>: when I went to Botega I had the distinct feeling that my breakfast would be <strong>unforgettable</strong>. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. A fragrant croissants, served still warm, soft and delicious. A buttery pastry shell that encloses a generous filling of good apricot jam, perfect taste, texture and appearance. The <strong>coffee</strong> is special and the chocolate is definitely worth a try (add the hand whipped cream for extra deliciousness) or just try one of the many specialties offered. Bombardino or cremosino, Castagnino or pulentino, I&#8217;m sure they are all tremendously delicious.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>I like</strong>: I like the<strong> laboratory</strong> open for viewing, the furniture that recalls an old grocery store, the plastered brick walls and the tulips at the counter. The wooden tables and display of quality artisanal products. I enjoyed my croissant with jam to the last crumb, and I fell in love with Nocciolotto: simply delicious served with 3 hazelnuts and a big piece of chocolate gianduja.</p>

Sa che sarà coccolato dalla golosità dei nostri prodotti, dalla dolcezza dei nostri profumi, dai colori dei nostri arredi e dalla genuina atmosfera che si respira”. La filosofia di <strong>Botega Caffè Cacao</strong> è chiara e diretta da subito, non lascia scampo a male interpretazioni! La Botega è il luogo ideale per concedersi una pausa dolce mordicchiando la tradizione!<br />
Se non avete ancora ben chiara la distinzione tra semplice merenda e comfort food allora andate subito da Botega e lasciatevi conquistare da tutte le prelibatezze in esposizione, sono sicura che non basterà un giro solo: vorrete ritornarci, al più presto possibile!</p>
<p><strong>Stile</strong>: fresco e pulito. Al bancone c’è sempre un mazzo di fiori freschi ad accoglierti e i tavolini color pastello all’esterno sono un vero invito a nozze. Grafica accattivante, un pò <strong>retrò</strong> e focus sulle mille e una specialità in vendita, tutte a marchio Botega.</p>
<p><strong>Ho provato</strong>: quando sono entrata da Botega avevo la netta sensazione che la mia colazione sarebbe stata indimenticabile. Le mie aspettative sono state abbondantemente colmate. Un <strong>croissant fragrante</strong>, servito ancora tiepido, morbido e delizioso. Un involucro di sfoglia burrosa al punto giusto che racchiude un generoso ripieno di ottima confettura di albicocche, perfetta per sapore, consistenza e aspetto. Il <strong>caffè</strong> è speciale e sono sicura che vale la pena anche un assaggio di cioccolata (con panna montata a frusta perchè qui le cose si fanno seriamente) o di ciascuna delle tante specialità offerte. Dal bombardino al cremosino, castagnino o pulentino, sono sicura che sono tutti tremendamente deliziosi.</p>
<p><strong>Mi piace</strong>: mi piace il <strong>laboratorio a vista</strong>, l’arredamento che richiama una vecchia drogheria, la parete di mattoni a vista intonacati, i tulipani alla cassa. I tavoli di legno e l’esposizione dei prodotti artigianali di qualità. Ho gustato il mio croissant alla marmellata fino all’ultima briciola e mi sono innamorata del nocciolotto: grande, buono, infinito. 3 nocciole intere e un mattoncino di cioccolato gianduia, la mia passione, per completare una colazione già di per sé perfetta!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">I&#8217;m totally honest, I chose these pictures to surprise you and amaze you with the firsts posts of the new blog. No, I swear, I’m not cheating, this cake is really mine! I know that this could be unbelievable but yes.. I’m pretty good <img src="http://i1.wp.com/misscococupcake.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif?w=1170" alt=";-)" class="wp-smiley" data-recalc-dims="1" /> These photos were shot by the amazing <strong><a href="http://www.laurachiarotto.com">Laura Chiarotto</a></strong>, a <strong>food photographer</strong> based in Milan, who I had the pleasure to collaborate with before leaving for <strong>New York</strong>. We shot several desserts in February and I will show you all of them soon!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">But let’s get back to the <strong>cake</strong>, it’s really easy to make. You need a <strong>sponge cake</strong>, <strong>Chantilly cream</strong> and tons of <strong>berries</strong> (I’m sorry but berries get me crazy!). Is this all?! Of course! Ok, and please don’t forget you&#8217;ll need lots of patience but if you follow my <strong>recipe</strong> you’ll have great results!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Ingredients for the SPONGE CAKE (8 inches)</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 stick of butter unsalted, room temperature + a spoon for the cake pan</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">½ cup + 2 Tbls of sugar</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 large eggs</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 cup of flour</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 tbls of baking powder</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 tbls of vanilla</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 cup of milk (of your preference)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">¼ cup of Liquor (of your preference, you will need it to mix with the milk)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Ingredients for the CHANTILLY CREAM</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 ½ cups of heavy cream</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">½ cup of icing powdered sugar</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Berries (as many as you want)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>DIRECTIONS:</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Heat</strong> oven at 325<strong>°</strong> F. Grease an <a href="http://www.everythingkitchens.com/kuhn-rikon-pushpan-w1112.html">8” cake pan</a>. With an electric mixer, <strong>beat</strong> the butter with the sugar, add vanilla and then eggs one at the time, <strong>mix</strong> until smooth. <strong>Sift</strong> together the flour and the baking powder, gently add to the mixture. Pour it into the cake pan and <strong>bake</strong> for 30 minutes checking with a toothpick if the center of the cake is cooked.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Wait until the sponge cake has cooled and cut it in three layers. <strong>Mix</strong> the milk with the liquor in a cup and wet each layer with the mixture helping yourself with a pastry brush. <strong>Whip</strong> the heavy cream and when it is done add the sifted icing powered sugar (be careful when you whip the heavy cream because if you whipped it too much.. you&#8217;ll have to go to buy another carton!)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> Using a sac à poche cover each layer with the Chantilly, then add a layer of berries and keep layering this way until you have finished all ingredients. <strong>Decorate</strong> it with lots of fresh berries the top.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Questa <strong>torta</strong>, al contrario di quello che possa sembrare, è davvero super easy da realizzare. Basta una base di <strong>sponge cake</strong>, <strong>crema Chantilly</strong> e tanti <strong>frutti di bosco</strong>! Tutto qui?! Yes! Certo, quello che non deve mancare mai è la pazienza ma se seguirete la mia <strong>ricetta</strong> qui di seguito vedrete che il risultato sarà meraviglioso!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Ingredienti per SPONGE CAKE (teglia da 18cm)</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">125 gr burro a temperatura ambiente + un pezzetto per la teglia</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">125 gr zucchero</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 uova</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">125 gr farina</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 cucchiaino di lievito per dolci</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 cucchiaino di vaniglia</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 tazza di latte</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 tazzina di Alchermes</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Ingredienti CREMA CHANTILLY</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">400 ml panna fresca</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">80 gr zucchero a velo</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Frutti di bosco per decorare</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>PROCEDIMENTO:</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Accendere</strong> il forno a 170<strong>°</strong> C. <strong>Imburrare</strong> la teglia. <strong>Mixare</strong> il burro con lo zucchero fino ad ottenere una base spumosa. <strong>Aggiungere</strong> un uovo alla volta e la vaniglia. <strong>Incorporare</strong> la farina setacciata insieme al lievito per dolci. <strong>Infornare</strong> per 30 minuti verificando sempre la cottura con uno stuzzicadenti.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Una volta che la torta è fredda, <strong>tagliarla</strong> in tre strati e bagnarli con il latte e l’Alchermes (aiutarsi con un pennello e non esagerare per evitare di far crollare poi la torta). <strong>Montare</strong> la panna e quando è quasi pronta aggiungere lo zucchero a velo setacciato. Fare attenzione a non montare troppo altrimenti.. andare a comprare ancora panna J</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Con una sac à poche <strong>decorare</strong> gli strati con la crema chantilly e sovrapporli, aggiungere frutti di bosco a piacere sia tra uno strato e l’altro sia sul top della torta.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">This is the first <strong>New York bakery</strong> review on this awesome new website! I’m really excited about this new adventure and you know better than me that in New York there are tons of bakeries&#8230; so it took me a while to find the first place to review&#8230; but I finally found it: <strong>Marm Cafè</strong>, a vintage place in the heart of the <strong>Lower East Side</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Style</strong>:</span> Definitely vintage! You know, I am a super new Newyorker so I have to know and discover this city better, but I can totally say that I really love the Lower East Side! With its magic cafès, this is the right neighbourhood to start exploring.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>My favourite</strong>:</span> 1. <strong>Croissant</strong> with custard – crunchy dough, buttery but not too much, with an amazing candied crust. The custard is exquisite, the texture is soft and the flavor gives away that there isn&#8217;t too much egg. I love it! 2. <strong>Tarte with berries</strong> – this is one of my favorite desserts ever, from the smaller size to the large one. The custard is the same of the croissant and the crust is crumbly and perfectly baked, topped fresh berries.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>I like…</strong></span>: Beyond the pastries, definitely the <strong>interior design</strong>! The chairs are all different and the brick wall is so New York! Never forget WiFi, one of the most important thing if you are a freelancer and you have to work in cafes!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">I’m back! I&#8217;ve missed writing on my blog and I&#8217;ve missed you, but now I&#8217;m here with a new style and I hope that you&#8217;ll enjoy it! My life has really changed in the last months, I moved to New York from Milan in July, and how have new habits and a new job&#8230; It has been a big challenge. But I won. Sometimes it’s really weird to stop and think about where I am&#8230; I’m still not realizing  what I did and the only thing I want to do is live this new life and experience it to the best I can!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">There is a specific moment stuck in my mind: it was last November when I wrote a post on the blog (you can find it <a href="/bwwy-di-grazia-it/">here </a>but I’m sorry, it is only in Italian) and it was like an outburst… I wrote about my passion for food and pastry, about New York and about my love for my job as a publicist. After one day that I published this post I called my mom and I said “Mom I want to go to New York for 2 or 3 months to have an experience and to study food media”. At the beginning she was very angry with me (only because she was scared to loose me) but after 30 minutes she was very sad and she said “I know that if you go to New York you will never come back to Italy!” She was right.. but you know.. she is my mom and she knows everything! On the other hand my dad was the happiest person of the world <img src="http://i1.wp.com/misscococupcake.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif?w=1170" alt=";-)" class="wp-smiley" data-recalc-dims="1" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">I want to dedicate this post to <strong>my parents</strong>, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR ME, without you I couldn’t have done or gotten to where I am today.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Finalmente sono tornata!! Mi è mancato molto scrivere sul blog però ho voluto questo re-styling con tutto il mio cuore e spero che la nuova veste del sito vi piaccia! La mia vita è cambiata radicalmente in questi ultimi mesi, ho cambiato continente, lavoro, abitudini…insomma tutto! Forse non me ne sto rendendo ancora bene conto di quello che ho combinato e sono davvero molto curiosa di vivere quello che mi riserverà questa avventura!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Voglio ricordare con questo <a href="/bwwy-di-grazia-it/">post </a> “l’inizio della fine”, quando, dopo averlo scritto e pubblicato, ho chiamato mia mamma per dirle “Mamma voglio andare a fare un’esperienza a New York per 2 o 3 mesi per studiare food media” lei dopo 30 minuti di smarrimento mi ha detto “io lo so che poi tu non tornerai più” .. era novembre 2013, esattamente un anno fa, certo che il tempo passa proprio in fretta. Lei comunque sapeva già tutto.. E’ ovvio.. è la mia mamma. Al contrario mio padre era la persona super felice del mondo ahah &#8230; i genitori, che strane coppie.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">E’ proprio ai miei <strong>genitori</strong> che voglio dedicare questo primo post del mio nuovo “tutto” dicendogli un GRAZIE INFINITO, perchè senza di loro nulla sarebbe mai stato possibile.</p>
